Right now we have our receptionist up front using just a digital phone the 4424+. I found out that the CT14 headset would work along side of this phone obviously using an analog port though instead of the digital port.

My question is how do I get the headset to work with the 4424+ phone in IP Office manager? Is there some documentation or some links someone could pass along that I could look at?

Thanks!

Attach the headset to a analog station port and in the receptionist user settings enable twinning with the analog station.
It will in a way work but using normal wireless headset is a lot easier.

I guess I don't understand why this would be harder for her to use?

Because you do not understand the technology behind it.
A headset attached to the phone itself is much better then using an analog port (extension)

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

I'm sure they want the CT14 because it has a dial pad. The issue here is this.

Ok sorry.

Anyway, I should just have to enable Twinning and should be good?

Only because of a dial path?

Buy a normal headset and connect it to a phone.
That phone has already a dial path!!!

But if they are not at their desk they can't use the desk phone.

The reason for using the CT14 instead of a regular headset is because that way she can transfer and place calls on hold when she is not at her desk!!

With a regular headset you can't do that.

I just asked a simple question so I thought with just getting the headset and the phone to work together with the same extension obviously and I feel like I am getting blasted on here.

Under Twinning type I pull down the menu and the only option I have right now is "None" will that change once I get the headset all setup?

A receptionist who is that busy should sit behind her desk and not running around the office.
If she needs to run around then there is a need for a second receptionist.
Or give her a dect phone when this is not an option.
This current headset can be used with internal twinning but then she can only handle one call at the time and not anymore.

We do have a second receptionist........

She can greet people when they walk in when our first receptionist isn't there but at least not leave the second receptionist with both answering phones and greeting people.....

Sorry feel like I am getting offtopic here.

Can someone please help me out with the Twinning option?

I was also told I could maybe setup a hunt group so that our main phone rings and so does this headset at the same time? I tried just adding the headset to the Main huntgroup but it doesn't seem to be working I think it's just setting up the main phone to forward out to our after hours service.....
