I'm running crystal info 7.5 with crystal 8 developer and am running into the issue that i have a report that will run fine from the developer but when the report is sheduled to run from info, it will fail with the following message: PE StartPrintJob : Cannot Open SQL Server.. The report is attached to a simple CSV file, so why is this occuring? Seagate Certified RCAD Specialist.

Hello Bruce,

You might not have a datasource set-up on your job/processing server.

try to set-up a datasource for it thru ODBC.

Hi Maki,
If I am logged in at the processing server the report runs just fine.. This only occurs if it is scheduled to run

Bruce,

One of the problems I've found with some ODBC drivers is that if the CSV file is on a remote drive, it requires a mapped drive.

However, Info is running as a service and can't see any mapped drives. Either move your csv to a local drive on the info server, or run Info as a process rather than a service.

Hello Bruce,

Are you connecting to your CSV file thru ODBC?
Make sure that the files are located in your Report Server locally and your ODBC DSN is pointing to the folder where these files are located.

Furthermore, you can only process your report using that file one at a time. I mean, it is not multitasking. If there are two or more reports using that file and processed at the same time other rights will fail. Just make sure that it is not used by others when you run the report.

hope this helps.

Maki
