Hi

To get a serial port for CDR on CS1000E, Nortel provide a terminal server box MRV. Programming that box to autoconnect on CS1000E Rlogin port, it distribute a serial port for CDR purpose outside the MRV through a PTY.

That is working, but... the first time the MRV box start or after a restart of that box, the serial port comes in the pdt. It's then necessary to enter pdt pwd and then sl1input.

Does anyone knows how to start a script in the MRV box to auto entering in the PBX ?

Experience welcome...

any script can be auto exec when tied to a connection directory. not a cure but i don't know that box. if your connecting to via procomm you can auto fire a script. if your not that good at aspect, (like me) just go to script recorder and record the key sequence, then tie it to the connection dir

Have you followed these steps from NTPS?

Configuring a transparent rlogin port with sample data
Sample data has been incorporated into Procedure 61. This configuration
shows that a device connected to MRV Port 2 will rlogin 47.11.166.76
through pty 10.
Procedure 61
Configuring a transparent rlogin port
1 Enable keepalive timer 1 for the port. Enter the command:
DEFINE PORT 2 IP TCP KEEPALIVE TIMER 1
Connecting a Terminal Server Page 265 of 476
Communication Server 1000E Installation and Configuration
2 Enable a dedicated service using rlogin. Enter the command:
DEFINE PORT 2 RLOGIN DEDICATED SERVICE 47.11.166.76
3 Enable the port to be accessible only by local command and from a serial
connection only. Enter the command:
DEFINE PORT 2 ACCESS LOCAL
4 Enable the In-Reach Element Manager to complete a ZMODEM transfer
using the rlogin feature. Enter the command:
DEFINE PORT 2 RLOGIN TRANSPARENT MODE ENABLED
5 Enable autoconnect for the port. Enter the command:
DEFINE PORT 2 AUTOCONNECT ENABLED
6 Enable autodedicate for the port. Enter the command:
DEFINE PORT 2 AUTODEDICATED ENABLED
7 Define a user name for the port. Enter the command:
DEFINE PORT 2 USERNAME PTY10
8 Log out of the port. Enter the command:
LOGOUT PORT 2
End of Procedure

Reusser,

Yes i follow that configuration, and the screen is displaying the pdt pwd to be entered. I think that the normal way, cause Rlogin session without additionnal command "-l CPSID1000" will arrive in pdt.

I guess it's possible to do it with a MRV script. but i don't know how it works.

John, on that serial port i will only have a buffer box that is unable to sript anything.

Additionnaly, if i can enter CPSID1000 or CPSID1111 i will never have the CDR tickets on that port, regarding 0 and 1 (SCH, MTC, BUG and TRF)

I set up the PTY port with CDR but i need to be sure the MRV box is the first one to be connected on CS. When creating more than 1 PTY, the 1st Rlogin session is automatically connecting on the higher PTY port number.
