Hi

Does anybody know if it is possible to assign an ACD C2 output on a CS1000E?

I have tried to configure a PTY port to use via the Terminal server with no success.

If i try to configure a PRT port I am not able to use PTY as the CTYPE. If I configure the port as a TTY I am unable to set the USER as ACD.

Help!

Just a thought.

Is it possible to put an SDI card into a MG1000E?

When receiving a 1000E, you also received a MRV box, isn't it?
That box MUST be used to get a serial port on 1000E...!!!

Do you need config of that box? It's clearly explain in NTPs 1000E installation

You are correct that the MRV is used for serial ports. these are configured as PTY ports on the 1000E. It is not possible however to set a PRT port on a PTY port.

Also, when you configure a port on the MRV to connect to a PTY port on the 1000E it conects using an RLOGIN session which requires the application to login with the PDT password. The ACD application must therefore be able to perform a PDT login.

Exact !! That's the problem Nortel still doesn't understand!! I did it to have CDR port on CS1000E and then application using the serial port have to do the pdt login and sl1input command. I don't know any application which is define as CDR or ACD design to be able to do such a login.

Additionnaly, as you test it that PTY port is not able to handle ACD PRT feature, i can say Nortel have to make a patch or review next rls..!!!
I understand Nortel should prefer to carry ELAN application like SECC for a basic ACD configuration.

There is a patch for this: p21313_1.pp4 (and .ssc) which allows user ACD to be assigned to a pty port.

The other critical thing to get right (Nortel docs are misleading here) is the setup of the MRV Terminal Server:
DEFINE PORT xx USERNAME "ptyxx"
The ptyxx must be in lower case (Nortel docs show upper case), surrounded by "" and the xx must be the setting assinged to port not dnum of the TTY.
e.g. with the following config in the switch set the MRV USERNAME to "pty6" not "pty2"
ADAN TTY 2
CTYP PTY
DNUM 2
PORT 6
DES ACD_C2
FLOW NO
USER ACD
CUST 00
SSUP NO
APRT YES
XSM NO
