Anyone know what the first release of CS1000 software was that allowed for third-party SIP endpoints? By that I mean a SIP phone made by another manufacturer. We’re looking at setting up a site with an IP turret system (Avtec Scout) and connecting to a CS1000 without having to use analog connections.

I believe 5.0 would allow you to register 3rd party devices as SIP endpoints, and 6.0 allowed you to use as a SIP Line using the SIP Line Gateway.

I would also recommend you look at for any indication of compatibility testing with "Avtec Scout". All SIP is not created equal and successful compatibility testing i) is the only assurance that this may actually work, and ii) is the only means to get any support from Avaya when you try it.
