Crystal Report Viewer Print Error

I've had a number of problems in limitations of the Crystal Report Viewer (9), and I'm wondering if this will be another item to fit into that category.

We have a user reporting that they can print to one printer without a problem in black and white, but when they print to a color printer, it skews the print, placing it into a larger font size and actually causing the print to overlap in the midst of the body of the report.

We're running some tests to see if changing printer drivers will make any difference, but wondering if anyone else has seen this problem and conquered it yet?

Welcome to the printer nightmare.

Printer drivers have a tremendous effect on how the report gets rendered. This issue can be compunded with odd sized fonts or odd font styles. Two different printers will view the same font and size differently. This my friend can be a drag.

If you want to see how your printer driver affects the reports, try this -

1. Open the report in the designer
2. File > Printer Setup
3. Move the dialog to a corner of your screen
4. Click the No Printer box and watch the screen (you may need to hit OK)
5. Now deselect the No Printer.

I have run into cases where the report needed to be redesigned for the less capable printer.
