Crystal problem: UPPER Case labels

Hi All,

I'm having a very strange problem with CR from the ICR.

I have created a new invoice report (based on Macola's original one) and now when I run it from Macola, some of my labels are displayed in Upper Case letters.

The problem happens in different sections of the report (Page header, footers, etc.) and only seems to affect certain "key words" such as (Description, Page, Date).

These three words are displayed on the report as (DESCRIPTION, PAGE, DATE) and all other labels are displayed in the correct format.

I've tried changing fonts, changing size, re-creating labels, but it really just seems like these are "Reserved" words.

For ex: if I change Description to Description1, it will display correctly.

I am using Crystal Reports 8.0, but the CR viewer in Macola is version 7.0

Any help, suggestions would be much appreciated.

Is it just a label or is it a database field or formula field that is doing this? For example, craete a formula with a vlue of "Description" and see if it still gives you all uppercase. Software Training and Support for Macola, Crystal Reports and Goldmine

It's only for labels.

However, I just received an answer from the Tech Support.

The problem is related to some Language database files inside the Language folder of the Macola root directory.

When running a report from the ICR, there are 2 DLL's (MacCROut.dll & MacPrint.dll) which reference these Language databases. As it so happens, some of my words (Description, Page, Date) were found in the Language databases and were in UPPER CASE inside the database so they were changed or "corrected" on my report.

The fix was to move these database files into another folder. I just created a new subfolder called "Temp" and dumped them in there, this solved my entire problem.

You probably will not need these Lang DB files unless you are running in a multi-language environment, which I am, but it seems that I don't actually "need" them anyway.

Just thought I'd share the solution....

Interesting stuff. Thanks knuckle. Please come back here when you have more issues, I have been trying to build this board up for a while.

Thanks knuckle. Often times people pose issues on a board like this then never follow up with, "Yeah, that worked" or, as you did, "Here was the problem and how I solved it."

This would have been a seriously difficult problem to solve.
