I have installed crystal 8 on my new xp system. There were no messages or problems during the installation but I now find that I cannot access the help system. I recieve a message saying that help has not been installed. It appears to be installed(files, dir's etc). Any suggestions anyone

I just installed on win2k and did not get error message during install but help does not work at all and i get no error message when selecting help of F1.

Don't know if this will work on XP but it fixed my Win 2000

1. Start the Registry Editor. On the 'Start' menu, click 'Run'. Type 'Regedit' and click 'OK'.

2. Expand the registry subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE | SOFTWARE | SEAGATE SOFTWARE | CRYSTAL REPORTS | HELP

3. Look at the values for the 'En' and 'Format' key.

If the value for 'En' is "C:\Program Files\Seagate Software\Crystal Reports\Help\En\", then set the value for 'Format' to "0x00000002 (2)".

If the value for 'En' is C:\Program Files\Seagate Software\Crystal Reports\Help\En\HTML\, then set the value for 'Format' to "0x00000003 (3)".

that worked just fine, was set to 3, when changed to 2 instant satisfaction.

Thanks for the reply's.
I got help installed by going back to the install disk and selecting reinsall, and then selecting the compiled help install.
