We upgraded from Crystal 9 to Crystal XI. When I run a Crystal report now on Crystal XI it truncates memo fields at 2 characters. If we take the same report and run it on a machine with Crystal 9 installed, no truncation takes place. All of the data is pulled.

Any idea why this is happening or how to fix it?

Thanks!!

Any one have any idea why Crystal 11 would truncate memo fields where Crystal 9 does not?

Thanks

Sometimes I need to recreate a report from scratch because the database structure has changed or the version doesn't work the same. I know it sounds like a pain but try starting from a new report and bring in all the tables or vies fresh. This works for me once in a while and it doesn't take too long to re-create a report. You can usually copy the formulas over without any problems

Using crystal 11, do a save-as to make a copy.
Then reopen the copy in 11 and see if it does the exact same thing.

No idea really why you are having this problem, it's just what I would try first. Sometimes running an older format file in a newer version of a program requires this kind of step.

I'd look around at my settings to see if there was anything different between the two. I'd also consider writing a test formula that brought the memo field in but truncated it to 100 characters just to see if that changed stuff.

What database and what version? Maybe that'll ring some bells.
