Crystal 10 pulling in information from 'unlinked' system files 1

We make use of single record system files in our Visual DataFlex product to store such things as organisation name and very importantly calendars.

If CR8.5, the driver pulled this information into the report and it was available to be used even though the system file was not ‘linked’ to any other tables in the report.

In Cr10 it can be made to work by having a selection such as sysfile.recnum=1, but that’s a non-starter because the report production grinds to a halt.

Is this a known issue with CR10? Could it be a dataflex connectivity kit problem?

All latest patches for CR10 installed and latest version of connectivity kit in use.

You weren't supposed to have numerous data soruces in CR 8.5.

You might use a SQL Expression to return the data, or perhaps a subreport.
