Crosstab display HELP needed

I want to show a business hierachy using Crystal XI

But it whatyou show as summation area I just want to show a list of engineers names not do any maths on the data
Any ideas anyone?

Accross the top would be various organisational layers and down the side would be the engineers role

Basically I want to stop doing this in a spreadsheet and start holding the data in a database but the output must be compatible with what we have now!

I want to do in a crosstab rather than group report etc

In Crystal, it's usually a good idea to try something and see if it can be made to work, rather than trying to work out in advance how it will be.

For the case you give, I think you could get it by having a crosstab of the 'maximum' of engineers names. Though this won't work if there is more than one engineer per row-and-column.

If it's more complex, then I doubt you can do it using Crosstabs. Consider a 'Mock Crosstab', use SEARCH to find examples.

No this would not work. I will try mock crosstab and do a search. Incidently are we limited to the standard list of background or font colours eg CrRed, CrGreen

Can't tell what the issue is here. You could use summaries like: NthMostFrequent or NthSmallest, etc., with a sequence of numbers up to the maximum number of names per rowfield. Your comment about the font colors is a non sequitur--you haven't mentioned anything about color previously.
