Hi to all,

I`ve got a comprehension problem with cross tables:
I created some formulas whose results should be used as header for rows and columns in a cross tab. But those formulas do not appear in the section of available fields for cross tabs.

Those formulas look like this:
if (Sum({RMX12.ENT1283})<>0 and Sum({RMX12.ENT1273})<>0
then ""
else "personell"

Is the problem maybe the SUM-function?
If yes: Is there any other possibility to find out if one specific entity contains data at least for one record?

Thanks for any kind of help...

You might not have realized that your total isn't an entity total, but is a grand total. Either way, you can't use formulas that have summary information as fields in a cross-tab. You might be able to do this in a manual cross-tab, where the columns are hard coded. See faq149-243. Ken Hamady, On-site Custom Crystal Reports Training & Consulting

Hi Ken,

thank you very much for your quick reply.

I think my problem is, that I do not know a better way how to find out whether an entity/column in a database table contains data for any record. Maybe there's another possibility than using the SUM-function?

If you have to evaluate multiple records to determine the value, then it wont' matter what function you use - it will be a summary function that makes your formula ineligible for cross-tabs. Ken Hamady, On-site Custom Crystal Reports Training & Consulting
