I am creating a column percentage in a cross tab using the summary function in the cross tab expert. This results in whole numbers. I need to have the percentage have one decimal place. Any suggestions?

You should be able to select the summary in preview mode->right click->format field->number and choose the number of decimals.

I tried that but it seems to reset back to a whole number.

In the format number screen->click on customize and check to make sure that you have decimals set to 1.0 and rounding set to 0.1.

I can't recreate your problem. This absolutely works for me in 8.0 or 11.0. You would have to repeat these steps for the column/row totals also. Maybe you should explain exactly what you are doing.

Unfortunately for me using version 11 it doesn't work. Here is what I am doing:
while in the cross-tab expert
click on summarized field (count of field x)
click on change summary
in the edit summary
click on show as a percentage of the row
This will display the percentage as a whole number.

I then go into the format editor and do the custom style and change the decimals and rounding as needed.
It appears in the sample to be working, but after clicking OK the percentage remains a whole number.

Does this make sense?

I wonder whether you have your options set for whole numbers? Try going to file->options->fields->currency and see if you have the decimals and rounding set to whole numbers there.

I thought you were on to something there but I set the currancy defalt to have decimals and the cross-tab still remains a whole number. I am stumped.
