One of my users in the field has suddenly had her DB go wacky on her.

It happens when she clicks on any button on a form or when trying to open a form from the database window.

She can open tables.

But when opening a query, she can see the information in the background, gets the "Invalid Argument" message, clicks OK, then every column is populated by #Name?

When opening from another machine with read-only access, some of the fields display correctly in the form, but others show the #Name? error. I think this is because some of the fields are in a linked table and some are in the master table.

She has already tried compact/repair, to no avail.

Thanks in advance to whoever has help for this! Only 2-1/2 hours left in my east coast workday . . .

Dan,

What does she see if she looks at the linked table
from the database window?

The #Name thing happens when there is an invalid
data source for an object. Fields renamed in a table
or queries changed or something.

Hi Wayne,

Well, she can see the tables fine in Table view.

The query is corrupted.

I had her create a new query, clicking the * to show all fields. Fine.

Then she put in one criterion, Yes on a Yes/No field.

"Invalid Argument" msg. came up; she clicked on it, and #Name came back all through the table.

So that's the way it is right now.
