I have a customer with an analog emergency extension that triggers an audible alarm and also rings on a couple of "saftey phones" using a bridged appearence. When there is an emergency the personnel will dial this number until someone answers. The problem is sometimes the caller hangs up before someone could get to the phone and the call display then goes away. Is there a way to have an ext trigger the crisis alert feature the same way as a 911 call?
This system is a Definity G3si version 6, using analog and 8410 digital phones.

Thanks in advance.

Not sure if this would work but you could turn on Leave Word Calling (LWC) on the stations with a Message Retrieve button which would light the message waiting light and when Message retrieve is pressed, it would display the extension that dialed. Make sure to also program in a message delete button.

The feature works but not sure how it works on bridged appearances.

My first thought was to program the extension in the ARS table and give it the type of "ALERT" like 911 but I think that only works for outbound calls.

Hopefully someone else can come up with some other solutions for you that will work better.

You could call-forward the number for the emergency extension 'off-site' to one of your DID's (a new one assigned to that emergency phone) and have crisis alert set up on the outbound call. The incoming call would ring the new emergency extension and crisis alert would be activated. We did this for our emergency fire phones. The setup was a bit different with hotline dialing and meet-me conferencing, but the same concept.
