I am running SbsServer2k with Exchange2000. Do I need to setup connectors for users getting there e-mail from the outside using pop3? If so, how to or can you please refer me to a site?

Thanks ;-)

Do I need to setup up an additional pop3 virtual server so that external users could get there E-mail home using pop3?

Once I create this connector the users are able to retrieve there e-mail from home?

I'm sorry once I create this pop3 virtual server it will allow the users to get there e-mail from home?

This is better phrased

Thanks ;-)

Ok,

I could recieve messages from my exchange server 2000 at work from home using internet e-mail pop3, but i cannot send messages. On my Exchange server I dont see the smtp mail connector. Could that be the problem? If it is how do i intall it using sbs server2k with Exchange2k? Do you have some info.

Thanks ;-)

No. The problem is likely that your SMTP Virtual Server is configured to prevent you from using it outside of your office. This is a good thing.

Is there a reason you don't want to use your ISP's SMTP relay when you are at home?

It is possible to configure the SMTP VS to allow relay after auth, but I've never used it.

Overall, you will be a lot safer if you were using a VPN connection to your office.
Then you can connect to Exchange as if you were there.
