Creating An OLEDB Driver?

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions about where to start if I wanted to create an oledb driver/provider. I'm trying to find out if this is feasible..

I'm not sure if I need to- what I ultimately would like is a way of using an existing application as a datasource for any other application, such as an Office application, and I was just looking for a place to start.
