Creating a single system from 2 CS1000S

Hi guys,

I have returned to probe the mass of knowledge contained within this forum.

We have 2 seperate sites both with a CS1000S with a virtual trunk running between the 2.

One of the sites has approximately 40 users and is a call center with CC6 and CallPilot. This site runs approximately 10 IP Phones and 30 - 40 3903's. This is the site that is moving the the site below.

The other site is somewhere between 150 and 200 users. With 4 3904's and the rest are all 3909's.

Both sites have 2 Sig Servers.

I am no expert in these systems but what we need is the best solution (cost prohibitive) to combine the two sites into one.

The 2 solutions from our vender are very vague, one involves an upgrade to a CS1000E and the other an upgrade to a SMG1000E.

Another solution would to simply move the system and just change the link between the 2.

Please could someone tell be the justification behind the upgrades (Which are not cheap we have minimal budget for this move) and give any better solutions that may have been missed.

The easiest solution for us would be to have the CC6 and CallPilot setup on the larger site with the Digital cards configured on the larger site to allow space for the extra users. Is this possible ?

Also an idea of how much these upgrades would normally cost would be appreciated as the cost seems greatly exagerated in these quotes. Thanks again

not a big problem but in need of a little more detail.. how many lic do you have on the larger system.. if i had enough lic i would just move the users.. you can run both systems with either ip or tdm ties but that requires a little more software..

upgrades can cost 10k to 300k.. a lot of options in those equations.. i would go with one system.. bye either lic or the upgrade IF possible...

We are only a few licenses short on the larger system but we would have to move the CC6 and Callpilot over to the larger system, how difficult is this and how much should we be looking at cost wise ? I Appreciate the input by the way. Adam

i don't do price..what i would pay and what i would charge are a long way apart.. you'll have to upgrade the lic to move the cp and cc6.. your not talking major money, but nortel has to bless the cp move.. the cc6 i'm not sure of..

and since your short on the larger system add a block of lic EVEN if you decide to wait on a full upgrade.. a keycode upgrade is way less then a rls upgrade

Sounds good, how much work is involved the CP and CC6 move ? few hours ? a day ? days ?

Basically can anyone justify £10000 to add CC6 and Callpilot to our existing system from the other site ? disregarding the shortage of user licenses ?

hours (maybe a full day) if they use a dumb term.. £10000 , great price... i could fly over and still make £8000 profit.. no that price sounds very inflated.. half that would seem high but closer to right (opinion)
