Creating a new Global Catalog 1

Hi there,

is it possible to make a DC a Global Catalog Server if the only existing one is down?

Our DC that was also the Global Catalog server has suffered a major hardware failure. We have other DC's but none of them appear to be GC servers. Can I make one of the other DCs become a GC server while the original one is dead? I guess what I'm asking is how are GC's updated - do they replicate info between themselves (in which case I guess I'm screwed) or do they create and maintain their own info bu monotoring the AD independantly?

Just make another one a GC if you're in a single domain environment there should be not problem.
