My goal is to create an Access database (or similar) and upload it to our website, then create a front end for it. Ideally, by using very simple search commands a list will be generated for matching records, and can be displayed on request. Think a very simple MS KB setup.

I know there are great tools out there for doing it, but as is usually the case, I've been given the project without a budget.

Any thoughts and ideas would be appreciated.

Are you looking to buy an "out-of-the-box" product or looking to create it yourself?

Use ASP to handle your searches/display and Access to hold the information (simple)

Without a budget to back what I'm trying to accomplish, I'm forced into create this one (unless you know of a good freeware package).

The ASP model sounds good. Unfortunatly, it's just something I need to teach myself to make it happen. If I could find a pre-built solution for this that would only require some minor modifications, I'd be estatic.

The Access database is the best back-end for me, since when the project is complete, the office staff will be responsible for maintaining the data.

Thanks
