creating a horseracing database

I want to create a horse racing database with the following fields. Horse name; date of race; 1st or 2nd fav;number of runners; trainer; jockey.
I want to know the best way to find the number of 1st or 2nd favourites to win a race in a particular month. How would I create a query for this.

Hi Mike,

In order to get your results, you'll need to know which horses were the favorites -- (which you have) -- and you'll need to know where horses placed in the race -- which I don't see in your field list.

I'll see what I can come up with in the meantime.
