I have limited experience with SQL so I am needing a little guidance on what to do. We have around 7 different servers that are running SQL 2000. What I want to do is create a single service account for the services logon. I want this to be a domain user account and not a local account on each machine. The thing I am not sure of is what permissions on the domain and/or local machine do I need to propagate to them. For example let’s say I create a service account called sql_serv in my active directory and that is the service account I want to use for all of my 7 servers. What built in group do I put them in? Just the Domain Users, Account Operators etc… built in group? If so/not what about on the local machine? Do they need to be local power users or admins?
Thanks in advance !!!

HI,
Have a Domain Account in active directory add this account to each sql server's box local admin group (usually builtin_administrators). change service accoun for each server in EM for
i) server registration properties > sercurity tab
ii) management > sqlserver agent properties >general tab
