Creating a backup job in Arcserve 2000

I have recently upgraded from arcserve 6.661 to arcserve 2000.
I had inherited the old systems and my predecessor created backup jobs using network and drilling down to pick a netware server on the source tab. However I have heard that you should choose netware agents (from the source tab) and add object for the client agent. and choose volumes from there.
How do you do it ?
