Create many domain name on apache server

I would like to have 1 apache server and have many (1000+) domain name.
Example :

http://www.user1.abc.com

http://www.user2.abc.com

:
:

http://www.user999.abc.com

How could I do it on Apache server?

I would look at apache dynamic vhosts

http://httpd.apache.org/docs-2.0/mod/mod_vhost_alias.html

Create a directory, add the dns and restart apache.

How should I configure the dns for all the virtual hosts?
So all internet users can access

http://www.user1.product.abc.com

Any suggestion ?

What DNS system are you using?

This is not an apache issue, this is a Domain Name Server issue. You need to configure your domain to have new subdomains, 1 for each user.

Apache can then auto-route these to the proper virtual directories using the above tip.

FOr each domain you want to create you need to add an entry into your DNS record for the domain.

So, for abc.com you would need to add

http://www.user1.sales.abc.com

and

http://www.user999.product.abc.com

No, apache can not automatically create these for you, you must do them by hand.Apache can however automatically host them as virtualhosts with no configuration using the commands mentioned above.

There are dns servers that will wildcard DNS for you, BIND is not one of them which means you have to configure each domain in BIND.
