Create a daily, monthly and yearly rotaion.

Sorry, I am new to the Legato world(old Veritas User). I would like to reorganize my companies backup policy. We have 6 servers that we need to back up daily. We like to back these up using the full method (mon-fri). We would like to use the tapes over every week. We would also like to create a separate monthly backup so we can save it off site for a year. Right now I have created a Pool and a Group for the Daily backup. I added all of the client servers to that Group and added the Group to the Pool. I set the retention and browse on each client to "week" which is set for 6 days. I want to have the Monthly backup have a retention of 1 year and browse for 1 year. Is this possible? It seems that when you set the retention and browse up in the clients there is no way to set up different retention/browse settings for multiple pools(example: "Daily Pool" and "Monthly Pool"). Is this true?

I would like to set up a Monthly Pool with every client in it, schedule it for the end of the month and have it have a retention and browse policy of 1 year. Can someone please explain if this can be done...and how?

yes, that's possible. You can have 2 client resources with the same client and the same savesets and with different browse and retention policy and even with a different schedule. This client resource can be in another group and associated to a different pool. Just create the client resource as you know. (just do it! P)
