craxdrt.dll registration failed 1

I am using CR XI . Access 2000, Windows XP.

I have built a Setup using Package & deployment wizard. When I run the setup craxdrt.dll fails to register. It gives me this error message
"An error occcured while registering the file "C:\program files\common Finles\business objects\3.0\bin\craxdrt.dll""

When I try registering it manually, I get this error message
"LoadLibrary("C:\WINNT\system32\craxdrt.dll") failed - The specified module could not be found"


I am lost. How do I proceed ?

Are you using the Merge Modules or are you selecting your own components into the package. Be sure to use the Merge Modules...

I am not using the Merge Modules. I am selecting the components in the package.

But that increases the size of installation setup over 40 mb..

Yes, but it's the only recommended way. BO doen't even provide instructions for packaging without the Merge Modules.

IDo,

I was able to install the application on another PC which does not have Crystal reports and this time it installed fine without any error messages. I made sure I included all the required dlls for craxdrt.dll. I ran the application and the report is opening fine..

Again I did not use the Merge modules.

Is this just an accident that it is working without merge modules ? Am I inviting trouble by not using the merge modules ?

Please advise.
