We have an app written in ASP.net. I’ve written the reports in 8.5Dev. In the ASP.net app, the user selects a report name, clicks a Run Report button and the rpt is run, exported to pdf and Acrobat opens with the report.
Here’s the problem: the ASP.net app uses Unicode for some of the text in an Asian character set. The app is browser based so the text displays just fine. CR 8.5Dev does not support Unicode and does not display or export the correct characters. After searching here and at CD it appears that CR.net and CR9 support Unicode, 8.5 ( and before) does not.
I’ve tried converting the reports to 9.0, but they won’t run in the ASP.net app.
My question: If we open the 8.5 report in VS.Net and save it, will it become a CR.net report and therefore support Unicode?? If not, is there another possible solution?
Thanks
