Forum:

Is there a way to have the default for my CR XI Database Linking Expert set to ENFORCED BOTH on the linking options?

Or will I have to handle this on a table by table, link by link basis?

Unless I'm missing something... I cannot foresee a reason for needing the other options? (Not Enforced, Enforced From, Enforced To)

Thanks
M

Thanks:

As far as i'm aware you can not change the linking options to a default of your choice. The same applies for Left Outer/Right Outer etc..

So i'm afraid that your going to have to do the joins table by table.

Why do you want to use enforce both though when there is no real impact on the report as its to do with the select statement thats being sent to the DB?

All it is is to determine which links are included in the select statement when the query is run, and if you use a field from both tables then the tables will be linked as normal anyway.

Well... I've noticed that it definately has an impact on the data set that is pulled. Not to get into too much detail here, but when I set my LEFT OUTERs to ENFORCE BOTH... I get the correct data set.

Oh well thx
