Hello,
I'm new to CR and have been strugling to find a solution to what seems like a simple problem.
I have a report with multiple group headers and a details section that is empty. Essentially all info is presented in the last group header that has a mixture of text and field records. These rows come out double spaced; is there any way to set this to single space? I have tried the paragraph formating, but it only shows up for the text records on the row and ends up making the text and field records missaligned.
Any hints will be appreciated.
Thanks...

By default Crystal does not double space. There must be something in your text or data fields that is causing the appearance of double spacing.

Here is one thing to check in the text fields you have entered. If you enter text with a space at the end of the text and then shrink the text box down to the last visable letter of the text, the report will wrap the trailing space on the next line giving the appearance of double spacing. Check all of your text fields for trailing spaces.

You probably forgot to suppress one of the Group Header sections.

Thanks for the responses. I checked the text fields and they have no trailing spaces.
The Group Headers seem setup correctly.

Dear sdtechlog,

First, are all sections not shown suppressed or hidden:

Right click in the gray area to the left of the section and choose Suppress No drill down or Hide.

Especially check if you suppressed the detail section. You state that it is empty .. it may still be repeating even though it contains no fields.

Check all group footers to make sure they are suppressed.

Finally, on the section that is to print, right click in the gray area and choose fit section. If the section looks closed up on the design view, then check each field and uncheck any that have can grow.

If that fixes it then a field is **growing** and you may need to size it wider or choose not to have it grow.

Figured it out. Thanks for all the responses. As ususal, it was a combination of factors. First of all the details section, while reduced to a sliver, was not suppressed. Secondly the Group header section containing the data was not sized to the exact height of the fields, there was one notch (not sure what to call it) of space above and below.

Thanks again...
