Is anyone using Crystal Reports 2008? What is new in 2008?
Why upgrade?

Thanks

I have been using the downloaded trial version for a couple of days now, I love it and I will be upgrading. the thread posted earlier has most of the new features listed like:
- Mixed page layouts
- more powerful CrossTabs (and hence CrossTab charts)
- Optional parameters
- Interactive parameter panel (on the left)
- More poerful XML exports (coupled with XSLT)
- Flash integration
- Interactive sorting
- Built-in barcode support

I've heard that some of the Dev tools are no longer supported. Such as the RDC.

The sample Xtreme.mdb is no longer included.

It took the companies I'm working for a while to finally upgrade to Xi R2. It may be many months(year?) before they upgrade again.

Do reports created in CR2008 run in XI Enterprise SR2?

Lochbel

No, the CR2008 reports do not run in BOE-XI (R2).

If you are using the Java CMC/InfoView you will need to wait for Release 3.0

If you are using the .Net CMC/InfoView you will need to wait for Release 3.1

What is the reporting tool environment like? ie desktop or web based?

Thanks

If Crystal Reports 2008 does not run in BOE XI R2, does this mean that BOE 2008 is on the horizon?

No, it will not be called "BOE 2008", the product is BOE-XI Release 3.0 for Java CMC/InfoView.

You will have to wait for Release 3.1 for .Net CMC/InfoView to support CR-2008 content.
