CPU temperature... strange readings

Hi

A friend of mine has this problem with his system... After running for sometime, say about 45 minutes, and when his check the CPU temperature it indicate about 73 Celcius.

The strange thing is that when he uses the motherboard utility program it shows only about 45-50 Celcius!

What could be the problems??

By the way, the motherboard is an Asus.

Probally an old bios version, check to see if you have the newest version of bios and also the motherboard utility program, if not update whichever needs to be updated.
