I second bcaster, however I use another tool in conjuction with MBM (motherboard monitor). The problem with MBM is that is takes up too much screen space to display all the time. I use CoolMon (
The trick is to install MBM first and configure it. CoolMon is compatible with MBM and will use a .dll file from it once MBM has been configured. You can then display the CPU usage/temp etc. on the desktop.
Iv'e setup MBM5 to display cpu temp and mb temp in systray .
And if hover over with the mouse pointer it i get the fanspeeds .
No need to have the dashboard open .
Cheers for your help on this. I've installed MBM and Coolmon and currently have the correct system temp read out but the CPU temp is showing 0 so I have to make a few tweaks to the settings.
What you need to do is go into MBM (without coolmon running). Configure the CPU settings to read the CPU temp. Usually the first sensor is the one that will work. Once you have MBM giving you a CPU reading, exit it and start CoolMon...It should then work.
Yep all works a treat now. Have disabled CoolMon as I've found I dont need it. MBM took a few 'experiments' with the CPU sensor settings, but works fine now.
