CPU interface errors on a Catalyst 2924

I've been experiencing problems with a WS-C2924-XL-EN catalyst switch with IOS C2900XL-C3H2S-M version 12.0(5.3)WC(1). It seems to lock up occasionally and whenever I plug a cable into any of the fast Ethernet interfaces when I'm debugging cpu-interfaces, it gives me the following error repeatedly as long as that port is occupied:

"CPU interface 0 storage notify failed on queue 1"

I've found no success in matching this error message on either search engines or the CISCO technical database. There is no configuration on this system. Do you know what this error could possibly mean?
