Hi everyone,

I've got a CICS 6.1 with a CP100 and 8 T7316e sets. We have the CP set to answer all lines immediately. Users can either hit their desired extension or press 0 to go to a hunt group. We have some customers that are STILL on rotary phones, lol, and the time it takes for the system to automatically transfer the call to the attendant is about 30 seconds (of silence) before the "One Moment Please" is heard. Is there any way to shorten this timeout value?

Thanks,
Matt

Yes...enable (or have your vendor enable) touchtone gate.

When touchtone gate is used, what's the approx time before a default transfer?

I Dont know- just guessing quicker than "about 30 seconds.

Okay. We'll have to give that a try sometime just for grins.
Thanks

Hi,

Thanks for the info so far. Acutally, I solved the issue without enabling the Touchtone Gate. I simply created a CCR tree (there was none before), and the default transfer to the operator takes place immediately after the CCR menu plays once. Exactly what I wanted.

Thanks,
Matthew

That is much better- nobody wants to hear "if you are using a touchtone phone, press one now."

I did not know using CCR's made that particular timing different.
