Cover answer not ringing bridged appearance

We have an S8300/G700 with CM3.1

We have a main number that goes to a cover answer group. I want to create an X port extension and put that in the cover answer group. Then add that extension as a bridged appearance on another phone.

In the cha coverage path form I have "Terminate to Coverage Pts. with Bridged Appearances" set to y.

In station form I have "Bridged Call Alerting" set to y.

When the Xed extension is called directly it will ring the bridged appearance but not when the cover answer group is invoked by calling the main number. Am I missing something here?

you cant do that, CAG's do not ring on bridged appearances.

Alright, so I was going to use that to get around this problem. EC500 is invoked by the CAG. Any way to make a CAG NOT invoke EC500?

I am also open to any creative work arounds that people may have.
