All.

Is there a formula to count only the numeric cells in a range ?

e.g.:
A1 = 123
A2 = 456
A3 = HELP
A4 = 789
A5 = LUCK

The formula would give me 3 as the answer.

Thanx.

COUNT only counts numberic cells. COUNTA counts text and numberic cells

John,

Yes COUNTA will give me 5 as an answer but am I to believe that no formula can accomplish this ?
Remember, I'm looking to count only the numeric values.

Thanx.

Read my first sentence again. =COUNT(A:A) only counts numbers.

Reread John's post. COUNT will do what you want.

Thanx John.
In haste I did not read it through as Blue stated.

Thanx again.
