Count Take a long time

Hi,
I'm using CR9 with ASP files.
I have a report that has 5 counts that are located in a group.
If I run the report on the CR tool it runs on a reasonable time but once I run it from the ASP it takes forever or some time the ActiveX viewer just hangs.
My assumption is that if I have 5 counts and 8 results to the group, Crystal run over the DB 40 times.
Am I correct?
How can I speed up the counts?

Are you passing a recordset? If not, how are the reports acquiring data? How are you executing them?

How were these counts created?

What's the difference between a count and a result in your terminology?
