Help our GroupWise server is displaying this message, It abended during the night possibly while it was doing something with the NDS database and now it won't let us in TID's on didn't work. It seems like it has fallen out of the tree. Has anyone had this before? We can't map a drive to the server so we can't see the abend log or anything. Has anyone got any ideas on how to fix it apart from that the server is working fine! Oh and we can't do a dsrepair either it keeps aborting and telling us that it cannot access the Directory Services Database.

You can look at the abend.log by typing at the console
edit abend.log
Try bringing the server up with server -ndb
This brings the server up without trying to open ds. Then try dsrepair.
There are a couple of other things to try after the above one.
Does the sys volume mount?
Is the server a master of any partition?
Do you have other servers in the replica rings of the crashed server?
If you have got good planning of DS then re-introducing the server into the tree can be done.
Try the above and answer the above queestions. You can recover from this so no panic, just may take a while doing it over tek-tips.

Thanks for getting back so quickly
We tried to do the DSrepair after loading server with -ndb still got the same error message
Both Volumes mount fine (Sys and Mail)
It is not a master of any Partition
Yes there are other servers in the replica ring
How do we reintroduce the server into the tree???
