Hi,

When i go to remove various applications i get a small window appear and display "could not open INSTALL.LOG file"

The install log file is there and i can open it in notepad and read it fine. This happen when i go through add/remove programs or using the progs uninstall.

It's also not just one app its various applications that are stuck on my system.

Can anyone shed any light on this problem?

thanks, shaun

290301 - Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility

This dialog box indicates that there is a problem in opening the log specified on the command line used to call the uninstaller. The message is erroneous in that it specifically says "Could not open Install.log file" when this may not be the installation log file name you specified on the command line for uninstallation.

The command line used for uninstallation from the Add/Remove Programs icon in Control Panel is stored in the registry at: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\<Appname>

Make sure the value UnistallString is pointing to the correct location.
