Could not find a net address for this server - Error : -634

I have just replaced a NetWare 4.11 server with a new NetWare 5.1 server.

The server was inserted into DS with the same name as the old server as discussed in Novell TID10016852.

When running a DSREPAIR now, there are a lot of errors, all saying ERROR: Could not find a net address for this server - Error : -634

There is an instance of this error for each server in the tree, most of which are Netware 4.11 servers but also for the other 5.1 servers. This error doesn't show on the other 5.1 servers.

Until the errors showed up I had not heard of SLP so any ideas would be very welcome.

was this the first netware 5.1 server in tree

did you do an upgrade

does the 5.1 have ipx on it or only ip
do you have the slpda set up

have you ran dsrepair and set to fix network addresses

Thanks for the reply, hope these points help...

This isn't the first netware 5 server, there are four others.

We built the server with a temporary name and then followed the procudure outlined in TID10016852 to replace the old server with the new one without using dsmaint.

The server does indeed have IPX as well as IP

I have run DSREPAIR with repair network addresses, and full DSREPAIRS On all the servers with a replica of the partition the server is in, and root.

I don't have SLPDA setup...

strange way of doing it but never mind

all servers have ipx ?
all routers forward and communicate ipx?

if so we can put slp out of the equation - for now

if you run dsreapir -a and check external references - do you have any stuck obits
