Hi all,
Was in a hurry (of course) and was changing a configuration register to 2142 after a password reset, but accidentally typed in 1042. When I power on/off now, the router doesn't boot (that I can see) and I can't type any commands in Hyperterminal to try to recover. All I have is a blank screen.
I have looked in Cisco's documentation but have not been able to see anything useful. Obviously besides typing slower, I need to get rid of that "1" in the register. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The console speed changed. You'll have to try different speeds to see what you can connect at. Once you get your screen back, break the boot sequence and change the registry back.

Hello there, the baud speed become 1200 instead of 9600. Just open a new hyperterminal session with the 1200 speed. Once up just change the line console 0 speed to 9600, as soon as you put the command in you will lose connectivity via the console port due to speed missmatch, just open a new hyperterminal session with the baud speed of 9600 and you will be back in business. If you just change the configuration register value the change will not be accepted. Cheers and good luck

Thanks IPKONFIG and tecnikall. I was able to reconnect at 1200 baud.
