Hi all,

I am using RIS to store machine images on a Windows 2003 Standard R2 (so SP1) server.

When I try to delete a file named default.js I get an error of 'access denied' if I try to delete the parent folder. When I bring up the context menu for the file I do not get the properties, delete or rename options. Opening or Editing results in nothing happening.

When I try to delete using command prompt (or rename, or TYPE etc) I get the error:

"The filename or extension is too long"

(However a DIR shows it to be called default.js)

Security permissions are fine as far as I can tell (e.g. applied to the parent folder and forced inheretance) including ownership and my own username explicitly stated as full control.

GUI gives me access denied and cmd give the above too long error.

Can anyone help me remove this file?!

(FYI - this is a file copied from a remote machine a few months back as part of a backup so the file should not be in use. E.G. It's not shared and there are no applications that even work off this partition. Standard restart etc hasn't help either!)

Cheers,

Steve.
