Hello,

I restart my Windows Server and at boot up process I get an error that I have to restore the Directory Dervices from Restore Mode.So I went into Active Directory Restore Mode and tried to do so by using I utility that I found on Technet page and no luck I also tried Ntsutil.exe samething. So my last choice was restore from Veritas System State but everytime it will get to 99% finish it will terminated with some error. So them I tried to restore to diffentents files path and the copy the restore Ntds.dit database replacing the original and still not luck...Any ideas what's left for me at this point...Many Thankz

If you run out of things to try... You can call MS Tech support for about $120. Throw your credit card at them, and they will help you fix your problem until it is solved. They rock! I had help from them on a bad Exchange restore, and they saved the day when I could fix it myself reading MS KB articles.

It would be very helpful to have the exact error you got when you tried to boot normally, as well as the exact steps you did with ntdsutil and the errors you got.

You could have a corrupt database, or it could be a permissions problem. How many domain controllers do you have?
