I have a cs1000 7.5 and some of the phones 3900 only have a "tone" when you lift the handset sometimes. most of the time phone is normal 1or 2 out of 10 there will be this different tone until you start dialing. Below is the firmware for system. Also what is the Core firmware and Flash firmware?
.fwvu 156 0 9 11---3904
****M3900 VERSION REPORT****
TERMINAL TYPE = 020
CORE FIRMWARE VERSION = 024
FLASH FIRMWARE VERSION = 087

In LD 32 do an FSUM, that will show you the firmware on the PBX Core and the Firmware of each type of 3900 phone type on your switch.

thanks i wanted to confirm the core is switch and the flash is for the phone.
ever hear of the different tones/beeps on digital phones before?

Never heard of different tones/beeps on digital phones. What type of switch?

cs1000 rel 7.5 this just started this week. switch was upgraded about 2 months ago no issues.
vendor is installing presences service/server.does not happen but 1 in ten times and goes away when you dial.

If it's a 1000 SG or 1000 M I would suspect a TDS card. If it's a 1000 E then possibly an MGC card issue. But definitely update the firmware on the phones. That should have been done prior to the upgrade.

You are severely behind in firmware and need to do updates, as KCFLHRC suggests. Current flash firmware versions for 3904 phones is 094. Surprised you didn't have problems before this.

Thanks for the help.it is a cs1000m and the TN's are all over an i need to know how to narrow it down to the TDS card. TN's 156-76-148-132-196-44-168-180
there are 7 groups

There should be at least 1 conf/tds card in each network group. Since it's so wide spread I doubt that is your problem. Possibly an issue with the Fiji Cards. But definitely update the firmware.
