Does anyone know of an cordless analog set that has great range? What I really need is something like the old companion, but you can't get those any more.

I need to enable some phones for supervisors in a warehouse. The campus is about half the size of a city block and has two warehouses.

Any suggestions?

Engenious makes cordless phones that have tremendous ranges.

We all need a little help once in awhile. Tony the Phoneman..

Nortel's digital mobility is a way better solution than the engenius phones.

Both have their advantages. Engenious are analog, which makes life a little more difficult if you're trying to use features, but they may be cheaper than a DMC.

As for range, it all depends how well you plan out the placement of the antennae.

To answer your question, though, I don't know of any standard cordless phone that will cover that range. You'll probably have to go with a cell network, like engenious, or DMC, unless the users tend to stay in one general area, then any analog cordless, or t7406 would work.

How difficult is it to program the Digtal mobility system on a Norstar? Do they require an additional set of key codes? Can it be done from the programming set?

I have used the engenious up to 1 mile with the standard base antenna. (manufacturer says 2 miles but I think they are using an extended antenna.) it is 2.4G so a metal building weill defeat it. the actual output of the handset is .98 watts so you are not talking about your momma's cordless here.

First, make sure your MICS software is at least 7.0; if not, you'll have to upgrade.

Programming is pretty simple, in fact if you've got 7.0 on your system, then you already have the installer manual for the DMC. It's on the same CD.

The extensions connect to the DMC via a 25pr amp, and use regular digital ext's, unlike the engenious that uses analog ports.

The software to configure the DMC is also on the 7.0 disk. If you've got it, check it out.
