corba & .NET

Hi!
Now that microsoft is using a lot of .NET how does corba compare with .NET i know .NET is not available for unix, but it were, then would it be difficult for corba to exists, or any other ideas? how fast or different is .NET from corba, all i have heard is, it aliminates all the usage of corba and com and dcom for inter language and inter process communication.

Hi ankursaxena,

Corba and .NET are still different. One feature of Corba, callback, for example, does not exist in the HTTP inclined .NET.

.NET and Corba can and do exist together in many implementations. For instance, .NET requests can be redirected - through 'wrappers' - to 'unmanaged' Corba ORBs.
