i currently run only 1 account, when i create a ltd account i lose all my "settings".

i would like to copy my admin account, desktop, firefox, vista start menu etc settings to a limited user account.

is this possible in one easy move? or do i have go thru each separately.

On a similar note, I'd also like to know if there is a way to create a default template for new users, so that all new users you create will have the same desktop settings, Windows Explorer settings...?

Create another admin account - call it admin2 say.

Create a new user account & call it defuser say.

Login to the default user account (defuser) and set it up the way you want.

Create a new account.

To copy an account login to an admin account (but not the admin account you want to copy).

Go to control panel>system>advanced tab>User profiles and select a profile to copy to C:\Documents and Settings\"user"
where "user" = the username you want to have a copy of that profile. Accept the warnings and OK you way back.

hi stduc, i don't think that will do all i want,
but i'll try experimenting by copying app data etc.
why don't system designers put this sort of thing in the
sys admin tools. its ok to allow partitioning of disks but helping users to do the obvious is not ok.
