Hi,

I want to create a scheuduled task that copies files from our local drive to a network share. I mapped the network share and is able to connect to it. I use the XCOPY command in my batch job to copy the files. When I execute the batch file stand alone it runs successfully but when I try to run it using scheduled task it fails. Is there a reason for this and how can I fix this? Thanks.

the permissions are not set properly. the scheduler doesn't have the appropriate permission. you do. in the scheduler, try using the "run as" abilities in win2k and specify you as the user. this will give the scheduler the permissions it needs.

Why does is fail? Any errors?
Test it again, schedule it 1 minute from now to see. If the solution is here, let us know it was helpful so others can benefit from it as too

I'm running the job using my own user ID in the "run as" field. I don't see any errors or in the logs. So I'm not sure why this is not working. Here is the batch command I'm using. xcopy S:\mssql7\backup\qadirector F:\ /D

Thanks for helping everyone.
