How do you copy formulas or sheets containing formulas from one Excel Workbook to another Workbook? When I try to do this it copies the data. When I do a paste special it gives me different options including pasting an image. I'm using Excel 2000. Thanks

maybe i should rephrase it thusly...

the problem i am having is that whenn i try to paste formulas between work books created in different excel sessions, it just pastes the value. if i do a 'paste special' my options are to paste images or a link object...none of which i want to do...i want it to paste the actual formula but it won't do it, it will only allow me to paste formulas between sheets in the same workbook or between workbooks created from the same original workbook. what am i doing wrong?
thanks

You have different INSTANCES of Excel running.

sorry...sessions...okay...now i've opened up both spreadsheets in the same excel session. when i past the sheet with the formulas in it to the other workbook, they reference the workbook which they were pasted from. is there any way to paste the formulas without them referencing the old workbook? i would rather not have to edit all the formulas after i copy and paste them. thanks

Use Edit/Replace
