As I'm looking in the ASUS A7N8X Manual ybder tge Bios Setup they recommend that I save a copy of the original motherboard bios along with a flash memory writer utility (Awdflash.exe to a bootable floppy disk in case I might need to reinstall the bios later. I tried to do as they said which was to type format a:/s at the dos prompt and it won't recognize the S Does anyone know anything else that might work?

I hope i was doing this right. I put the win me boot disk in the drive, restarted it and then when the A: drive came up i typed in c: went to the c:drive then I typed in format a:/s and it said Microsoft windows no longer supports the format /s command. Then I tried at the C: promt sys a: and it said You can only SYS drive c: to try adn repair the boot hard disk.

Go to Windows Explorer > right click on A drive > one line on the dropdown list will be "format" > left click on this and a box will open giving you format choices. Choose "Format with system". Suggest "full format" as a "quick format" doesn't check for bad sectors. For a "flash" disk, you want as good a disk as you can!

ME has introuced those restrictions - download a win98 boot floppy (from for example). Boot from it and then run format a: /s (it will ask you to insert disk - insert a second floppy to get your minimal boot floppy).

Thanks again I don't know what I'd do without everyone :))
